Have an unwanted vehicle sitting in a driveway, parking lot, or other private property? Start by explaining the situation and completing the appropriate paperwork. Whether you own a home, manage a rental property, or run a business, Chain Gang needs to review the request before confirming removal.
Explain whose vehicle it is
Tell us whether you own the vehicle or whether it belongs to someone else. If it is yours, describe the title documents you have. If you own or manage the property but not the vehicle, explain your role and how the vehicle came to be there. These situations can require different documentation.
Include the property address, available vehicle details, how long it has been there, and any known ownership disputes or restrictions. Clear photos can help show the vehicle’s condition and access for a tow truck.
Complete the paperwork for your situation
Contact Chain Gang or begin the property-removal request so we can review the details and identify the appropriate next steps. Complete the applicable forms accurately and provide the requested supporting documents. Tell us when information is unknown or paperwork is missing.
For New Jersey abandoned-vehicle matters, MVC has different procedures for private property, public property, and repair facilities. SS-58 is part of its private-property packet; that page alone is not the entire process. See NJ MVC’s abandoned-vehicle procedures.
Submit your request for review
Our online process may also ask you to verify your identity. This helps confirm who is making the request; it does not establish ownership of the vehicle or permission to dispose of it.
Chain Gang reviews the information and documents before confirming whether removal can proceed. Sending a form does not by itself authorize a tow, sale, or disposal. Once the applicable requirements are addressed and service is accepted, we can coordinate pickup access and timing.
An unwanted vehicle does not have to leave you guessing about the next step. Send us the details so we can help you understand what paperwork is needed for your request.
